Sean McCormick, from Winnipeg Manitoba, is a Red River Métis entrepreneur and community advocate dedicated to advancing Indigenous Sovereignty. Sean founded Manitobah Mukluks and grew the company to become a leading social impact brand with international reach. Sean served as the Founder and CEO of Manitobah Mukluks from 1997 to 2021, later transitioning to Chief Impact Officer from 2021 to 2023.

Sean is currently a General Partner at Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, an organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous entrepreneurs and businesses.

Sean has served as a member of the Premier’s Enterprise Team (2016-2020) and the Mayor’s Indigenous Advisory Circle (2016-2022).

Sean is an active community leader, serving as Chairperson for Mother Earth Recycling, an Indigenous-owned and operated social enterprise from 2020 to 2023, Board member of the Métis Economic Development Fund (MEDF) from 2014 to 2020 and Board member of the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce from 2007 to 2009.

In recognition of his significant contributions to Canadian business and Indigenous leadership, Sean has received numerous awards and honors, including the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Cross, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, and the Excellence in Aboriginal Business Leadership Award.

Sean has also been recognized with the Spirit of Winnipeg Trade Award and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Award. His company was listed as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for five consecutive years (2015-2019) by the Globe & Mail.
